“Had a great experience here last night with friends. There was 4 of us and 2 babies… they made sure they gave us a table with plenty of space for the pushchairs and were very accommodating. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and had a good atmosphere... also felt it was very reasonable price wise. There was also a few parking spots out the front too! Will definitely be visiting again!”

“Great apartment, very clean and close to the town center, restaurants, shops and train station. It had everything we needed and more. The communication with the host was really good, they were quick to reply and helpful. They made everything so easy, the check in, the check out. We even asked for an extra night and everything was easy to solve. We will choose them again if we need another apartment in Woking, for sure!”

“Amazing concept, great delicious food and the most attentive service that I have experienced at any restaurant. This about sums it up for me. This is a great & welcome addition to Cranleigh. We visited last night (Monday night). It was their first day after their busy weekend. We wanted to wait a couple of days until after the initial rush of people excited to try it out. They were quite busy for a Monday night and I saw the manager (whom I later found out was actually the owner covering for the manageress who was off sick) chatting with a couple of tables who had visited on the 1st or 2nd day. So clearly they are already having repeat customers which is always a great sign for a new restaurant. The table next to us was telling him how much they enjoyed the food, that they will be regularly coming back. I had the Chicken Fajitas it was perfect. The portion is huge and comes with a good amount of chips, coleslaw and a small side salad. Most other restaurants charge you extra for the coleslaw or salad. But here you get both for free with the dish. I've been to restaurants where you order a burger and it comes by itself on a plate with a side of chips. My friend had their burger, it came with 2 succulent Wagyu beef patties and it came with onion rings, salad and coleslaw. Again this was delicious. My other friend had the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. She said it was the best she's ever had. I can see some people have been complaining and moaning about the time it takes to get the food. Our starters (buffalo wings, cheese nachos and Halloumi fries) came within 12 minutes of us ordering them and they were all great. But we didn't have to to wait to start enjoying the food as when they give you the drinks, they bring out a sharing bowl of corn chips with delicious Salsa for you to enjoy while you wait for the food. And it's free. I think that's a great touch. In today's day and age, nobody gives you anything for free! Our mains came 15 minutes after we first got the starters which is good timing. I guess it would take longer for bigger tables which is understandable. The table next to us was a group of 7 adults and a little girl, with a really horrible lady. They got their drinks immediately after ordering and said they wanted to order the food after getting the drinks. Before even ordering, the lady asked the owner how long it would take for the food, he said it would be 25 to 30 minutes for the mains as it's a group of 8. The lady started complaining that this is not acceptable and that the child was hungry. It was shocking that the lady was complaining before she has even ordered! And the owner told her he would expedite the child meal before the adults. He said he'd rather be honest than lie and say 15 minutes when it would take longer. Another lady in the group said they would have to think about it and they were most likely going to leave without ordering and asked for a few minutes to discuss it. I could tell it was tense, but the owner was polite and told them it would be a shame for them to leave but if they decided to leave it would be fine. I couldn't believe what happened next. The owner went into the kitchen and came out 5 minutes later with a plate of chicken tenders, onions rings, chips and a salad and gave it to the mother of the little girl and said that he made it quickly for the little girl as she was hungry and that it was complimentary whether the group decides to stay for dinner or leave. He said he didn't want the little girl to leave hungry because he has daughters himself. The mother of the girl was appreciative and they eventually stayed for dinner. Honestly, I have not seen this level of service, and that in spite of the lady being extremely rude to the owner. He even brough a free slice of chocolate cake for the little girl. If I was in his shoes, i would just have let them leave!! Prices are not expensive as others have said and the value for money is much better than other places such as Richard Onslow. We would definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place.”

“Excellent hearty food and very tasty. No hesitations in ordering again, just good quality home style cooked food. The pork shish kebab is brilliant and the soup (Solyanka) is delicious.”

“Came here for dinner with a friend and we had a really nice time. The food was tasty, I had the pork belly with dauphinoise for mains and the churros for dessert. The service was also good too. Our server, Livy, was very attentive and friendly.”

“It’s Pantomime time and have just been to see a matinee performance of Cinderella with Brian Conley. Put simply - amazing, Brian makes the Panto, with plenty of adult gags that’ll go over the children’s heads and lots of staged improvisations with the whole crew. The ugly sisters are award winning (of yes they are!) and are equally hilarious. Brian really is the one who brings the house down with lots of his TV show (it’s a puppet, Dangerous Buttons Brian and more). If you’re in 2 minds don’t be, tickets are cheap compared to London pricing and you can park in the carpark right next door. I’m half tempted to go again (oh no you’re not - sorry I couldn’t resist!”

“Well furnished, comfortable rooms which are very quiet and you don't need to be a plumber to work the shower ! Lots of choice for breakfast which was plentiful, well cooked and presented. We will definitely stay again.”

“A gem of a good old fashioned pub! Warmly welcomed by the Landlady and the locals drinking there, also met the Landlord later, again very friendly. If you’re looking for a gastro-pub this probably isn’t for you, but if want a drink in a great pub with atmosphere and friendly locals then look no further, highly recommended.”

“We love going to the Jovial. The team are always absolutely lovely and go out of their way to make you feel as welcome as possible. We popped down for Mother's Day and enjoyed the carvery with a group of 14. Big shout out to James for helping with our numerous table size adjustments (and always with a smile), and to Mark for the food which was absolutely top notch!”

“My wife and I have visited the Crown and Anchor on a few occasions since the new owners have taken over and always had a lovely time but have never sampled the food. On Saturday 1st October we booked lunch with 9 family members to get together for my dads birthday who we sadly lost 13 years ago. The food was out of this world, all home cooked. I had the cheese burger which I have to say was up there with the best I have ever had. Lasagna, pizzas, Halloumi burger and the liver and bacon were ordered (dads favourite, which my mum had and said was incredible, her words). Everyone said how amazing their food was. (Kids food was great too). The beers we ordered were perfect, these guys really do know what they are doing.m when it comes to pouring the perfect pint. Can’t rate and thank Wendy and her team highly enough. Nothing was too much, we really did feel like royalty. The tribute to dad was incredible. It was the perfect place to go with Wendy and her Husband Marco being Crystal Palace fans as so are we as a family. Wendy put a palace scarf on the table and put a pint there for dad. It’s these sort of touches that mean so much. We told them we would be bringing our German Shepherd with us and we couldn’t believe what they did, a lovely bed at the end of the table for him to chill in. We also ordered a lovely dinner for him which he really enjoyed. Such a lovely dog friendly pub. The play kids area is amazing, kept the little ones entertained for ages. Wendy even set up an art and craft table for the two little ones while we had our lunch as they had theirs first, again kept them entertained. She ended up being like the pied piper with all the kids in the pub following her around. She took them down to the river that runs along the back of the amazing garden to feed the ducks and swans. So way and above. Again, thank you so much guys for the most amazing afternoon, we really can’t thank you enough. I urge everyone to try this pub, you will not be disappointed. And lastly let’s not forget the barman (sorry, didn’t catch your name), amazing service, always remembered each round and couldn’t do enough for us. One last thing, The Crown and Anchor take food allergies really seriously, there are no nuts on the premises, so if any of you have an allergy, another reason to try this wonderful pub. “The exceptionally handsome manager (think his name was Josh) that served me was an absolute dream. We ordered too much food and he kindly got takeaway boxes and packaged everything up for us. Even gave directions and recommendations for things to do in the evening! Wish I could have taken him home instead of the food”

“I really love the Anchor. Such a fine example of a friendly, relaxed public house, and that view, it really is something to marvel. I often end up here just before the rush hour starts if the weather is nice . Weirdly I've never struggled to get a prime seat and have always been delighted by the service here. I highly recommend it to anyone looking at their watch and realising its pimms o'clock! Food looks great but that's something I am yet to try. I shall update that once I've returned but I'm sure it's just as good!”

“First visit today to meet a friend for breakfast. They have a nice selection of breakfast options on the menu all freshly cooked once ordered. The staff were very nice and we had a warm welcome when we arrived. The service was excellent and very attentive. The food was very good and generous portion sizes, You also get unlimited toast and preserves with your order though we couldn't eat too much of that as the main meal was so filling. It was reasonably priced too, there were 4 of us and it worked out at £9 per head when the bill came. Will certainly go again we had a nice visit and a good first experience.”
