“Great hostel in a perfect location with very reasonable prices. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm with typical hostel comfort levels. There was a nice kitchen with good cooking utensils and shared spices. Dining room and sitting room were both nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. When I left I forgot my hiking boots and they arranged a delivery to Dublin through a bus company. I am very grateful they were so accommodating.”

“It's exactly what you pay for. Not a 5star place. Cheap and cheerful perfect for a group night out. Very good location right in the centre of the city. No problems with the owner deposit was returned fairly quickly as well”

“The best price you'll get in Carlow as someone new in town when each Euro spent counts! The manager was great even over email before my arriving in Ireland for the first time as a foreign national. You may have seen the not-so-good reviews but as the manager told me, "I offer you safe accommodation but it's not a hotel." I'd have given them a 5 rating just for good communication & frankness but they do have some things to work on. I highly recommend it if you're new, low on cash & urgently looking for accommodation. They also offer long term accommodation which I noticed was rare amongst common popular hostels in Ireland which at best give you 1-2 weeks in a country where long term accommodation is hard to find! I've changed my mind. Heck! I'll give them an honest 5 rating for that because finding decently priced long term accommodation in Ireland is hard!”
