Got the brie for starter and wow it is amazing !!! Herself got the beef cheeks and that was perfectly cooked as it fell apart and very tasty. I got the swordfish (first time getting it) and it was a generous portion and was lovely. Would recommend to anyone in the area!”

The Kings Mill Restaurant
● Closed“Let me start by saying that I rarely take time to review restaurants. I have visited Ireland 4 times, have eaten at many fine restaurants (including those which are Michelin rated), but this is hand down the best dining I have experienced in all of Ireland. There is nothing about this place that isn't short of incredible! From the moment you drive up, you'll be amazed at the stunning view of the Mill and nearby river from the parking lot. The restaurant itself has retained all of its historic qualities, while being welcoming and romantic at the same time. As fantastic all of this is, it's secondary to the remarkable food and service. I am truly sad that I found this place on my last day in the area. I wish I had words to explain how good our meal was, but I do not. The freshness and quality are second to none and I can only assume this is due to sourcing local ingredients. Chef Marcel and crew are able to transform seemingly simple dishes to a level what I would consider to be fine dining. If you are anywhere near Kilkenny and don't take the time to visit Kells and The Kings Mill, you have truly missed out. I will always plan my trip around visiting this great establishment. From the waiter, to the manager, to the Chef, I cannot thank you enough. Dining at The Kings Mill has been the highlight of our trip. I wish you all the best and look forward to dining with you again!”

Kilkenny Design Restaurant
● Open“Absolutely loved the food hereeeee! There is a restaurant above this design shop. You walk in then go upstairs the stairs as you walk up, you can smell the deliciousness! I got the quesadilla, potatoes, veggies, soup & bread with a very yummy tart dessert!! Food is a good portion to the point where you don’t even have room to eat dessert but you eat it anyways because desserts look so amazing and taste so great. If you are looking for a lunch or dinner or tea or coffee kind of thing this is your place plus you have a beautiful view of the castle too:)”

Paris Texas Bar and Restaurant
● Open“Loved this place which is dedicated to a movie called Paris, Texas, a place I've actually been to on a trip or two to Houston. It's American menu was refreshing break from the Irish food. I had the Reuben, first time I'd seen corn beef on a menu as it is not a traditional Irish dish there. Plus Reubens are my favorite sandwich. It was delicious. Nice corn beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and their own homemade thousand Island dressing which every one at the table agreed was delicious. My niece had a nice big bowl of seafood chowder. Large pieces of seafood, shrimp, clams and mussels, in a creamy broth and two nice size Irish brown bread. She loved it! Her husband had a Santa Fe dish and that too looked good, smelled delicious and tasted a bit like home. An unexpected treat.”

-
Lana Kilkenny Asian Street Food
● Open“There is a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere here. I ordered the prawn and chicken pad thai – it was very good. The noodles weren’t overcooked, the chicken was tender and the prawns were sweet and savoury. However, the pad thai could do with a bit more tamarind or more chili flakes but that’s just personal preference. The free ice cream at the end pushed Luna to a five star rating for me. It was so creamy and delicious!”

Butlers Inn Bar & Restaurant
● OpenMain Street, Urlingford, Ireland“Our Eurocar broke down several miles from this place. We stumbled upon this place hungry, tired & thirsty on our way to the Rock of Cashel. We spent 7 hours at this wonderful, gratious place as we tried to deal with our Eurocar rental issues. Si'ead Garret & John Cahill helped us with phones as well as driving some of us back to the car. They really cared about the situation that Eurocar put us in. We had a fantastic lunch. Their vegetable soup was especially great and the beer was cold. Eurocar did not come through with another car. We had to take a long taxi ride back to the hotel. They stuck around for us, even though they closed. It is definitely worth a stop for a meal and perhaps a drink or two on the way to your next destination. You will not regret it!”

Rang them and they made another fresh one and threw in an extra bag of chips as an apology. Super happy with how they resolved it. Great resolution for the customer here! Well done and thanks.”

Roccos Take Away
● Open2 Walkin Street, Kilkenny R95 V603, Ireland“Incredible service, sensational easy comfort food. If you’re staying or passing Kilkenny, you must stop off at Rocco’s. I can only recommend the following. Quarter pounder with cheese and by god you MUST have the curry cheese chips. If you don’t you’re a fool on legs. It’s just absolutely superb, full of flavour and all that’s naughty. The service is great. Straight forward and to the point but friendly also. Five cheers for Rocco’s. Give them a go. Five stars.”
