Patricia Veale School of Dance
● Closed“My daughter attended Patricia Veale School of Dance from just under age 3. She absolutely loved her time there and took part in ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz & modern dance classes. She took RAD examinations in ballet with good grades. The highlight for her was performing in the shows this school produces every two years at Joseph Rowntree Theatre, fantastic productions by the school's teacher and principal, Kelly. Highly recommended dance school.”

Muddy Boots Nursery Poppleton (York)
● Open“As a family we absolutely love Muddy Boots. The staff are so enthusiastic and caring with the children. Our two boys have thrived whilst going to their nursery sessions. They have formed such special bonds with their key workers, who have demonstrated such an incredible level of care. Both boys love the regular access to outside space and the encouragement to often get as messy as possible! Communication is great and they use the Famly App, which is brill for accessing all info for your child whilst there.”

York School of Jewellery
● Open“Love going to jewellery class at York School of Jewellery! It has a really good vibe and small, friendly classes. Nick and Julie are experts in a wide range of jewellery making techniques and can offer extra instruction in other areas such as silversmithing, enamelling and soldering. Classes are relaxed, follow students interests and supports their creativity. Couldn’t recommend more highly!”

Muddy Boots Nursery Acomb (York)
● Open“Deciding which nursery to send our child to was one of the biggest decisions of our parenthood at the time. As soon as we step foot in Muddy Boots Acomb, we were welcomed with open arms. They showed us around and had a real interest in us and our child. They answered all our questions and anxieties, putting us at ease straight away. I just felt that this was going to be somewhere they would look after my child the way I would whilst I’m not there. We are now two years down the line and I have two children with Muddy Boots and they absolutely love it! They love going, spending long days there, but they never complain, they are just so happy to be there. Whenever I pick up I get a handover with a report of everything my child has done that day, and the staff make me feel like my child is the only one that goes there. They just seem to know every little detail, and I just feel like the staff are really interested in my child’s wellbeing, and want them to succeed and do well. We are both really ecstatically happy with Muddy Boots, we would shout it from the rooftops and recommend them. If you want your children to be looked after well and taken care of, and to feel like they are number one in their room it’s definitely a place to send them!”

Froggy Legs Swim School
● Closed“My daughter has swum with Froggy Legs for over four years. She suffers from anxiety and we found that the small pool at Carr was the perfect environment for her. It isn't big and echoey like some public pools, and the small teaching groups and close parent seating suited her perfectly. Over the years, she has had a number of teachers who have all helped her to build confidence. Susanne (who runs the swim school) understands her needs and ensured that her transition to a 'big' pool was smooth and stress free. And her current teacher Edie is very attuned to her needs. I feel that she is always happy to listen to any issues, however small (a lost noseclip can be a major disaster!) and my daughter is never pushed outside her comfort zone, but rather encouraged to get there in her own time. As a result she is now a confident, competent swimmer. Would not hesitate to recommend.”

Roko Health Club York
● Open“I only signed up this week so it’s difficult to comment on what it’s going to be like long term, but so far? What a place, honestly I’ve looked forward to coming every single day, class gym despite it being upstairs and relatively small, modern and up to date, friendly yet professional staff and the pool facilities are brilliant. At this price point Roko is a pure hidden gem in York.”

York Stage School
● Open“Izzy has just started at York Stage School but came skipping out after the first week and did an impromptu performance with her friend. Izzy can at times be shy so this was lovely to see. She came out of the second week saying it was even better than the first week! She enjoys the variety of activities and clearly felt right at home. I’ve been impressed by quick responses and friendly communication over email and in person. Really glad we signed her up!”

Helen O'Grady Drama Class York Acomb
● Open“My daughter says "It's fun, it helps to build up your confidence with saying things on your own, like you start out shy and then you get really confident and you get to work with lots of different people so it teaches you how to get on with different people. John my teacher is very funny." She always goes in smiling and bounces out smiling, it's fast paced with a different theme each week so no chance of getting bored.”
