Clear Creek Park Family Activity Center
Clear Creek Park Family Activity Center, located at 717 Burks Branch Road in Shelbyville, Kentucky, is the original and oldest park in the area. Named after Clear Creek which runs through the park and creates Lake Shelby, the park was established in 1974. The park was generously donated by Dr. A.L. Birch, a local veterinarian, who's family farm once stood on the land. The park system has since grown to over 900 acres with 12 parks spread throughout the county. The Clear Creek Family Activity Center is a 40,000 square foot facility that offers indoor and outdoor pools, basketball courts, a weight room, fitness classes, after school programs, an indoor walking track, and more.
