American Legion Memorial Building
The American Legion Memorial Building, located at 201-277 Poplar Street in Atlantic, Iowa, is a historic institution owned by the Atlantic Rock Island Society Enterprise (ARISE). This 501(c)(3) non-profit organization also owns the Rock Island Depot, which serves as the Chamber of Commerce for the city. The American Legion Memorial Building is a former National Guard armory that now houses a Memorial Hall, Military Museum, Military Library, Atlantic History Center, and Flag Room. These facilities are open to the community and offer a unique opportunity to learn about the military history of Atlantic and the surrounding area.
