Choices Life Resource Center, formerly known as CARE, is a health institution located at 1201 North Jim Day Road in Salem, Indiana, United States. As a free parenting resource center, we offer compassionate medical care for pregnancy, sexual health services, and provide free baby supplies through our StepUp Parenting Program. With locations in New Albany, Corydon, Salem, and Marengo, we are dedicated to providing these services to our community. Our services are free and confidential, with no insurance or residency requirements. We offer pregnancy testing, nurse consultations, options consultations, medical referrals, and limited ultrasounds. Additionally, we provide STI testing and treatment for various infections.

The Hoosier Youth ChalleNGe Academy is a school located at 1100 North Shelby Street, Salem, Indiana, United States. Established in 2007, Indiana's Hoosier Youth Challenge Academy offers military-based training to at-risk youth aged 16-18 who have not graduated from high school. The academy aims to mentor and train these youth in developing values, skills, education, and self-discipline to become successful young adults. The program is a 17.5-month commitment, including a screening process, acclimation phase, residential phase, and post-residential mentorship phase. Class 35 begins on July 9, 2024. Due to the impacts of COVID-19 on education, a larger application volume is expected for the next class. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply now for consideration. The academy is affiliated with the Military Department of Indiana and the Indiana National Guard.
