Nuclear Science Laboratory
The Nuclear Science Laboratory, located in South Bend, Indiana, is a research center operated by the Institute for Structure and Nuclear Astrophysics (ISNAP) at the University of Notre Dame. ISNAP focuses on fundamental and applied low energy nuclear physics research. Faculty members at ISNAP conduct their research at the Notre Dame Nuclear Science Laboratory, as well as collaborate on projects at the Argonne National Laboratory and the Facility of Radioactive Ion Beams at Michigan State University. The NSL is a mid-sized accelerator facility dedicated to studying low energy physics, with research activities supported by the US National Science Foundation. ISNAP is a founding member of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics - Center for the Evolution of the Elements (JINA-CEE), a NSF physics frontier center in collaboration with Michigan State University, Arizona State University, and the University of Washington.
