Porter Ridge Apartments

"No heat for the last 29 days. The lease states they are to provide heat! They have broken the lease. We pay electric. I will be taking my Nipsco bill in and asking for them to pay the difference between my regular electric and my new bill which hasn't come yet. The office girls are great!"

"Ok the apartment it self in meadow LN , they are great , it's a great area near a great school if you have children. Pretty quiet for the most part. And it's near everything you could need. I just recently found out that my rent did indeed did go up, technically, mind you I haven't had a lease since November due to the technical difficulties that the office staff we're having. I finally get a lease with everything on it sign it and get it back to them. I did not hear from anyone in the office I go to pay my rent online like I do every month on time even before the first of the month. To see that my rent was raised. I called the office just for someone to transfer me to someone else so they can tell me that I signed the wrong lease and it had the wrong dates And the wrong Amount. What I could not understand is at what point were they going to reach out to me to let me know that I technically still do not have a lease. And to let me know that my rent is more. The communication skills are terrible here. I look over the lease that I signed and I see all of the correct dates I really feel that the (owner) could have done what most building owners have done through this pandemic and not raise rent because of the hardships people have been going through. I say owner because whenever anything happens they blame it on the owner. But there's no way to speak to the owner no way to email the owner no way to contact the owner. As I'm speaking to them about my lease and the dates I get told that it is what it is and we can't do nothing about it. So basically it is what it is that I haven't had a lease since November it is what it is that you failed to call me or email me and tell me that I still don't have a lease it is what it is that the owner and staff are not sympathetic towards the pandemic or peoples hardships. So I guess they're right it is what it is. This this is a current tenant that has faithfully paid her rent every month before the first on time, but the first thing they tell me is they have been lenient with people being late and that should be enough lol . But when you have maintenance running into your house on announced, you have to wait a month for something to get fixed, and the staff doesn't communicate with you detrimental things that they should, I feel that at least they could skip a year of raising the rent. I'm pretty sure it's not going to affect the owner. With that all said I'm pretty sure this will be my last year renting from this company"

"I currently live here and I have a 2 year old son. Around 12 PM to 1 30 PM he usually lays down for a nap. So as he is laying down I also go to lay down. And today (I'm sure they knocked) maintenance let them self in and started working on our electric panels and didnt make sure the apartment was empty. I was watching tv in my room and the power goes out so naturally I get up to check and they had let their selves in without checking that no one was home..."

"This apartment building has horrible management. Mary and Mark are both super rude, deceitful, and not helpful. I’ve had a family member that has lived in this apartment complex for 20 years, and Mark decided to terminate the lease, and when we asked why, he said it was for no reason at all, and he didn’t want my family member to live there anymore. I believe it is illegal in the state of Indiana to even evict a person with the disabilities that she does have. When I got off the phone with Mark, he made a comment by saying, “I have to get off the phone to visit my mother in Michigan that has an actual disability.” I was appalled by his behavior, and his attitude. My family member is a handicap who has been told by a judge that she is okay to live alone. She has been terrorized by other people that have lived there, and the apartment manager, Mary, did nothing about it. This is a horrible place to live and I do not recommend it to anyone."

"This was the best community and people friendly home we ever lived in. Our neighbors were like family to us including staff and management. It was our privilege to live at Porter Ridge. We have been gone for almost 6 months and still miss being there."
