Founded by a group of concerned citizens, the Lowell Volunteer Fire Department has a rich history of service and dedication. Since our first meeting on October 5, 1897, and the appointment of our first Chief, M.E. Nafus, our department has been a cornerstone of community safety. Over the past 122 years, only 22 individuals have had the honor of serving as elected Chief, a testament to our stable and committed leadership.
