The park also features a large sandy beach for swimming, fishing and boat rental on the 145-acre Starve Hollow Lake, as well as hiking and mountain biking trails for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can learn about conservation at the Education Center, which offers a variety of forestry and natural resource programs throughout the year. Special events such as Earth Day, Smokey's Birthday, and family fishing days are also held at the park. The Education Center is wheelchair accessible and welcomes volunteers.
