Diamond Lake Sports Complex
Diamond Lake Sports Complex, located at 26630 Illinois 83 in Mundelein, Illinois, is a 43-acre natural gem that was formerly known as the Diamond Lake Slough. After completing master plan improvements in 2009, the site was renamed with input from the community. This complex is home to dense woodlands, valuable wetlands, and various native species, making it a popular destination for Park District visitors. Thanks to funding from a $400,000 Illinois Department of Natural Resources Open Space Lands and Acquisition Development (OSLAD) grant, Diamond Lake Sports Complex offers a wide range of recreational activities. The complex operates on different hours depending on the season, with winter hours starting the Monday after Daylight Savings ends and spring hours starting the Monday after Daylight Savings begins.
