The Crystal Lake Lions Youth Rugby Club is located in Algonquin, Illinois and is dedicated to bringing safe, competitive, and quality rugby to the McHenry County area. Our mission is to teach respect, discipline, and teamwork through the sport of rugby. We offer programs for Middle School and High School age boys and girls, including a co-ed U13 Junior level and a Boys U15 Senior level. We also have a Boys High School level team that competes in Rugby Illinois - Division 2. Rugby is the fastest growing sport in the United States and is one of the most watched sports in the world. Our season starts with practices in March, with games beginning in April. Middle School teams participate in a 6-week season that ends in June, while High School teams have a 6-game schedule followed by playoffs.
