In 2016, Kid's Castle was renovated and replaced due to wear and safety concerns, with a new rubber surfacing and a large dragon play structure added. The institution also offers various amenities such as picnic shelters, tennis courts, softball fields, and playgrounds. Additionally, there are three beautiful lakes - Firethorn Lake, Willow Lake, and Evergreen Lake - where visitors can enjoy fishing, boating, and other recreational activities. Turtle Creek Waterpark, located at 635 North Aspen Drive in Vernon Hills, Illinois, is dedicated to conserving nature, supporting wellness, and inspiring leisure for all. The colorful sprayground features climbing features, tube and open slides, bridges, interactive play features, a dump bucket, and water sprays for all ages. The designated tot area ensures safe water play for the little ones, while big kids up to age 13 can also enjoy the fun. The Sprayground is set to open in late summer 2024. After 30 years of operation, the Family Aquatic Center closed its doors at the end of the 2023 season, and the newly branded Turtle Creek Waterpark will open in summer 2024 with even more amenities and excitement.
