Mills Park, located at 217 Home Avenue in Oak Park, Illinois, is a 4.43 acre park that is a popular tourist attraction. The park is adjacent to the Oak Park Pleasant District and features the historic Pleasant Home, a National Historic Landmark designed by architect George W. Maher in 1897. The Pleasant Home is owned by the Park District of Oak Park and operated by the Pleasant Home Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and operating this architectural landmark as a historic house museum. The park, named after its second owner Herbert S. Mills, was acquired by the Park District of Oak Park in 1939. In 2011, a major renovation of Mills Park was undertaken, including new accessible entrances, paved walkways, a looped walking path, interpretive signage, a children's play area, benches, lighting, landscaping, and the planting of numerous trees. The roof of the Pleasant Home was also replaced in 2018 to match its original historic design.
