"My son was here from Oct 15 2021-Jan 26 2022. He was there for part of his cancer treatment on the 17th floor. The nurses were ok only a select few were amazing. My son also needed a sitter because he chewed through his chemo line. His sitters were good we had a few favorites and it was always nice to have someone to talk to when I couldn’t sleep. My son spent some time in the ICU the red team and the ICU nurses we had, LOVE THEM! However getting to ICU was a struggle, 3 rapid responses in less than 24 hours and on 6L of oxygen barely at 92%, In my opinion that isn’t a #1 pediatric hospital status. However the stem cell doctors, oncology, palliative care AMAZING!"
"If you want what's best for your child ignored and prudent medical care gatekept from you, then this is the perfect hospital. You may think you came to an institution of merit, but will only find personified disappointment in lab coats making rounds. To them it's not about what's best for your child's quality of life, but what allows them to get out of your room as quickly as possible. The only solutions you will be allowed access to are the ones most clinically convenient for the hospital. The city should tear this place down and replace it with a landfill. At least then it would serve a purpose."
"This is a wonderful hospital. Everything has run on schedule, the doctors and nurses have taken as much time as we need to explain the procedure and answer our questions, and they were fantastic working with our four year old son."
"Lurie Children's Hospital provides so much care for a child in every sense. Not only top of the line medical care, but also they care about a child and their family members mental health during their stay. Recently, a small group of our team went for a tour and dropped off donations. Clare from the hospital was an amazing guide and opened our eyes to so much more that they do. From art rooms, game rooms, library, outdoor patios, and more. Lurie Children's Hospital is top on our list of who we contribute to year after year. Thank you to everyone for all you do. ❤️"
"It's ridiculous that they had us waiting for 7 hours in the waiting room and my daughter with her broken arm. I can't believe the incompetence of the useless staff. And apart from that, all the staff spend their time joking with each other as if the patients weren't waiting, I don't understand why they don't do something to close this hospital. We are very disappointed!!!!"
