Established in 1954, our fire station is a cornerstone of safety and service in northeastern Will County, just 30 miles south of Chicago. Our district spans 30 square miles and is home to nearly 10,000 residents.
Plum Valley Preserve
Plum Valley Preserve, located in Crete, Illinois, is a 491-acre park that is part of the Plum Creek preservation system. This preserve protects forest and wetland habitats, as well as a portion of Plum Creek. Visitors can enjoy a variety of plant and wildlife species, including reptiles, birds, and unique plant species like lobed violet and fire pink. The preserve features a 1-mile crushed limestone segment of the Plum Creek Greenway Trail, perfect for hiking and exploring. Additionally, Plum Valley Preserve has a 9-acre off-leash dog park with three enclosures, one of which is exclusively for small dogs. Whether you're planning a family reunion or a casual get-together, our shelters provide the perfect setting. For groups of 25 or more, a permit is required, ensuring exclusive use of the shelter for the entire day. Groups smaller than 25 can also choose to purchase a permit for guaranteed access. Please remember that reservations must be made at least two business days in advance, either in person or through our online system – phone reservations are not available.
