Welcome to the official website of the U.S. Marshals Service, located at 750 Missouri Avenue, East St. Louis, Illinois. As a vital arm of the U.S. Department of Justice, our office serves the Southern District of Illinois, with the Honorable David C. Davis appointed as the United States Marshal. Nominated by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. and confirmed by the Senate, Marshal Davis has been leading our district since January 3, 2023. Our primary mission is to ensure the safety and security of the community by apprehending dangerous fugitives. The Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (GLRFTF) operates from our location, collaborating with federal, state, and local agencies to tackle violent crimes in the greater Chicagoland area, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Our focus includes crimes such as murder, sexual assault, child pornography, and aggravated assault, with over 500 violent offenders arrested each month.
