Artist professional development in Evanston, Illinois

The National High School Institute at Northwestern University, located at 617 Noyes Street in Evanston, Illinois, has been providing exceptional educational experiences for high school students since 1931. Affectionately known as "Cherubs," students are brought together with superior teachers in an atmosphere of affection, knowledge, and trust. Offering studies in Theatre Arts, Film & Video, Debate, and Playwriting, NHSI is the oldest and largest university-based program of its kind. Applications for the 2024 positions are now open, allowing students to join the Cherub community and immerse themselves in a variety of artistic disciplines. Directed by Jennifer Avery, an experienced arts administrator, teaching artist, and actor, NHSI is dedicated to fostering creativity and talent in young individuals.
