Collegiate Pool
“Definitely the best Learn to Swim program in Hobart/Tasmania with small class sizes, upgraded and secure pool facilities. Both of our kids have gone right through the Collegiate Pool's Learn To Swim program & are now involved in squad training through HC Swim Club (also based at Collegiate Pool). We started our kids at Learn to Swim lessons at another centre - and the difference in the quality of the program and the delivery was huge - the Collegiate program was noticeably superior. All teachers/instructors & coaches have been great right through our swimming journey, and our kids love them. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Qualified instructors are very technique focused. Private holiday lessons are a fantastic way to boost confidence and progression - they fill up very quickly, so keep your eye out and follow the Facebook page so you don't miss them. I’d definitely recommend the Collegiate Learn to Swim program to everyone and get added to the wait list if you need to.”
New Norfolk Swimming Pool

Branxholm Swimming Pool
“Great place to go for a dip. It's now free and there is a life guard on duty. Has shower and changerooms next door in camping grounds. There's a toddler pool with shade, a deeper pool for older kids and a good sized adult pool. Beautiful setting with trees & places to sit and enoy the atmosphere all around the pool. The great thing is this pool is rarely packed. It's usually just a few people and sometimes just you. It's like having your own private swimming pool that someone takes care of for you. I wish it was open in winter! Open in the afternoons during summer. Times vary depending on school holidays etc so check before you go.”
Gorge Swimming Pool
“Public pool with beautiful view of the gorge. Fun to spend couple of hours with the family. Whilst there are life guards it is expected that parents/guardians are looking after the kids. There is a large and wide grass area inside and outside the pool where you can spend time for picnic or simply chill. Warmly recommended”

The Gardens Apartment Hobart
“We had a lovely 5 days at Tom and Pam's Gardens apartment. Everything was perfect! Spotlessly clean. Warm and cozy with the gas heating. Exceptional attention to detail with the inclusion of everything you could need for a comfortable stay with the ability to cook for yourself. Very comfortable bed and chairs. The Gardens are lovely and Tom and Pam the perfect hosts. The location with bus stop so close made exploring Hobart easy. We will definitely be back and highly recommend the gardens apartment. Flagstaff Estate
“Hosting our best gals hens weekend at Flagstaff Estate has by far been one the best choices we made! Our entire stay was filled with such thoughtful little luxuries, warmth, comfort, laughter and fun times. We created memories here that will last a lifetime. Chantelle was an absolute dream to deal with, from her prompt responses to my texts and emails to the beautiful bottle of wine and grazing box on arrival. As it was a hens weekend Chantelle was so fantastic about activities I had planned for us at the Estate and it made all the difference. We absolutely would recommend this beautiful place to everyone, from families with young children, to girls weekends away and romantic couples weekends. The most relaxing and beautiful stay we have had! Thankyou so much for hosting us! We truly hope to be back Xoxox”
Shym Sauna's and Spa's
“We purchased the 1.8m barrel sauna from Shym Saunas and are very happy with it, and using regularly. The sauna was quickly shipped to Sydney without any problems and assembly instructions (and videos) made putting it together straight forward, even for a DIY novice like myself. I would certainly reccomend Shym Saunas to anyone thinking of purchasing one, Artem was very helpful through the whole process.”
Tas Laser Skirmish
“My son had his birthday party here last weekend and he and his friends had a great time. Everything was so well organised and smoothly run and the communication with Jonathan for making the booking was excellent. We appreciated having the picnic tables to use afterwards for food and cake too. Highly recommended.”
Pennicott Wilderness Journeys
“We did the Iron Pot Cruise from Hobart and Luke our tour guide was awesome !! We really enjoyed the history of this tour. My two teens enjoyed it but loved the Bruny Island cruise more from the same company that we did last year. Luke did do a couple of nice swerves that the kids enjoyed. Great way to spend 2 hours out in the bay and learn great history and geology of Hobart ! Thank you Luke :)”
The Shingles Riverside Cottages
“Veronica such a pleasure meeting you. So friendly and helpful right from the first phone contact until we left after a far too short a stay. We loved our stay in “The Willows” and wanted for absolutely nothing. The extra touches made for a visit that won’t be our last. Extremely clean, modern and very tasteful. Lovely comfy beds. The grounds where we were free to wander had something for everybody - beautiful gardens a plenty - lovely clean pool - or a relax on the pontoon on the river. We viewed the other cottages and were not disappointed - definitely able to accommodate different configurations of families. Again thank you and see you in the not too distant future. Penny”
Willesden On Stoke
“We stayed at Willesden on Stoke for 6 nights in the Ogilvie Suite. The property was spotlessly clean and in a great location with views of Mt Wellington from our loungeroom windows. Rachele was a great host and ensured everything was perfect for our stay.”
Kingston Park
“A huge park, great for a range of ages. There is now a toilet block inside the fenced area. There's a flying fox, high up tree house, swings, climbing ropes, water play etc. Water bubblers. BBQ facilities.”

Tasmanian Expeditions
“Overland Track 6 day thru hike...A trip to remember! Its a trip I will never stop talking about! It was adventurous, informative, magically beautiful and between Rachael, Laura (our guides from Tas Ex) and the personalities in our group we laughed all day and night! Someone was always cracking a joke! It was so much fun! So a mix of landscape, people and good positive vibes made this a trip to remember! The meals prepared by Rachael/Laura & Tasmania Expeditions were insanely delicious and nutritious for hike food! There was never a time where we went hungry with plenty of snacks and chocolates always on offer!”
The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart
“The view from the room was stunning with a lovely bed and bathroom. The staff were attentive and quick. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and beautiful. If I could offer one warning, it seems like they only offer a la carte breakfast on the weekdays. To go from a virtually limitless buffet one day to an extremely limited menu the next day was jarring.”
Swim Central
“Good teachers, friendly atmosphere. A great place for the kids to learn to swim”
Longley Waterhole
“Hidden gem! Please be mindful some parts is considered as private property and the water can be deep for younger children. Otherwise have fun!”

“Good for a short walk or run, just outside the city. As well as a great place to check some of your first Tasmanian birds when visiting.”
