Madison Theatre
The Madison Theatre, located at 496 Flat Shoals Avenue Southeast in Atlanta, Georgia, is a historic institution that opened its doors in 1927. Designed by local architects Daniell and Beutell in the Moorish Revival style, the theater boasted over 600 seats, luxurious furnishings, and air conditioning, making it one of the most prestigious neighborhood theaters in the South at the time. Throughout its history, the Madison Theatre played a vital role in the community, serving as a cultural hub during the transition from silent films to “talkies.” After operating as a theater until the 1960s, the building was later repurposed as a church.
