The Labyrinth of Rome, located at 402 Civic Center Drive in Rome, Georgia, is a unique landmark and tourist attraction with a rich history. Originally built by the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s as an erosion control pond, it was later used as an amphitheater by folk artists in the 60’s and 70’s for poetry readings and musical performances. Established by the late Ed Baker in collaboration with local government, this labyrinth is a special corner of Rome’s historic Jackson Hill. Made up of 5,490 bricks weighing a total of 24,705 pounds, the labyrinth offers visitors a peaceful and introspective experience.
