"Yesterday, I had a nurse visit, and when I arrived, one of the front desk staff who checked me in was quick rude and seemed annoyed. After she checked me in, I asked her which side the nurse was coming from, and she annoyingly said which side and that we only had one waiting room . I was just asking to be aware. The nurse called me back for my appointment. She was the only person I dealt with that day that derserves a 5-star review. After my appointment, I checked out and had to schedule two appointments. The lady at checkout ( different than check-in) was a bit rude and slouched down in her chair. I asked to schedule two appointments. She annoyingly confirmed that one of my appointments that was already scheduled was for September, which I never scheduled and had no record of. I asked to reschedule that appointment, She refused to reschedule an already scheduled appointment. When I got home, I realized that I never received any notification about my scheduled appointments( nor did I see them on the Followmyhealth app). It's disappointing to see such a decline in the quality of front office staff since NAPC switched to Southeast Medical Group."
"The quality of service and care has dropped dramatically since North Atlanta Primary Care became South East Medical Group. A simple checkup took over 2 hours because the office was poorly and inefficiently run. The back office rescheduled my appointment serval times and only notified me by automated message but not via any live communication. I would never refer someone here"
"Reception person was excellent. Pleasant and VERY helpful. Nurse was equally pleasant, knowledgeable and capable. Dr Shack was attentive, logical and thorough. It is a long drive for us, but well worth it if the experience remains as good as our first visit."
"I was a patient at NAPC for well over a decade, but I plan to find a new primary care practice. Since I do not have to go to the doctor too often, I didn't mind putting up with some inconvenience, but my last experience was a mess, and although I like the provider I have seen over the years, the practice has become much too busy to provide caring and thorough service. I had an appointment in late 2023 for a physical and some needed labs - I waited almost an hour in the lobby before being called to be seen by my provider. Then the lab had run out of one of the tests I needed, so I was told to come back a couple of days later to complete the blood draw. I tried calling ahead to make sure before I returned, but it was not possible to reach the location directly (main desk or lab) via the main phone number. Twice I was put on hold for more than 10 minutes before the call just dropped. When I visited again two days later to complete my labs (which required fasting), I was told once again that the test had not come in, and I expressed my frustration to the front desk, as any reasonable person would do. While discussing with another staff member behind a wall, I overheard one of the front office staff refer to me as "crazy," which I felt was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Finally, after a few back and forth phone calls with the associate practice manager, I was able to find out when the lab test was in so that I didn't have a waste another fruitless trip to the office (my suggestion was for them to send a nurse to my house to complete the process, which is a service I have had done previously with a lab company, but that was not something the office was willing to entertain). There was never really a sincere apology or what I felt like was true concern to improve communications or operations so that experiences such as mine could be avoided for others going forward. I also needed a form signed by the provider following the return of my lab results, which was done, but when the nurse called to let me know, she informed me she could not directly email me a copy of the signed form - it could be faxed or I could pick it up. I was able to get in touch with the associate practice manager again, which I did not necessarily wish to do, but she was able to email me a low-quality copy of the form...and I was appreciative not to have to return to the office once again to finally be done. The whole ordeal solidified my resolve to find a smaller or more well-rounded primary care practice where I hope I will be treated with more kindness and respect in addition to receiving quality care that I expect. There are too many options in this area to put up with ever revisiting NAPC."
"What a stupid nightmare. December 23, 2023, the Saturday before Christmas. My wife had respiratory issues that were escalating. Looked on line and it said “open for walk-ins 8:00 am”. I checked for holiday hours. Nothing. Got there 8:00AM. Door was open. Went inside. No body there. Other patients started to show up. Filled out the “intake” form (which was operational) and sat. No body shows up behind the desk. Patients start walking around the hallways looking for staff. Nobody there. After a while (half hour) one of the wandering patients passes the open front door and sees a sign “Closed on 12-23” on a letter sized paper. You don’t see it when you are entering the open door. Nothing online about being closed. Nothing on the phone…and the freakin’ door was OPEN! We got up and left after wasting a couple of hours including drive time. Bottom line is, we’ve been patients here for 18 years. The medical staff has always been top notch. The management has steadily declined from a caring effort to basically a teenage attention span. It has become ridiculous. At some point the excellence of the medical staff will not surmount the ineffectiveness of the management, and we will leave. We may have reached that point."
