"A wonderful dining experience from start to finish. This place had been in my bookmarks for quite sometime and I finally got the chance to go. The restaurant is beautiful. The service from our waiter Saaghir was top tier, and the food was five stars all the way! For starters was the crusty bread kind of a mixture of sweet salty freshly charred garlic bread. We were torn on what on what to order so we decided to split the meal. The lady ordered the turkey and pastrami sandwich which was starred as a crowd favorite on the menu, and the star was well deserved because the sandwich was fabulous. She also ordered yesterday's soup which I did not try but got two thumbs up. I ordered the pizza of course. New York style pizza will always and forever be my favorite but this runs a very close second. It was like a personal pan pizza but bigger. The crust was thick buttery and very flavorful. Next time I go here no matter what I order I will take one to go because leftovers wasn't enough. The drinks were a little light but that's ok because we came to eat! This place is ABSOLUTELY date night approved! Fellas if she thinks she's to good to go to "the cheesecake place" then take her here! Trust me we ordered everything I mentioned above plus a round of drinks and I came out with $100 exactly AFTER leaving a $25 tip! Pro tip: Park in the brick works parking deck and don't pay immediately like I did. The Culinary Dropout offers complimentary 2hour parking. There's a scan code at the reception desk as soon as you enter. ENJOY"
"This spot has been on my list to try out for some time. My sister was in town and we needed a spot for Sunday brunch. I was like let’s try Culinary Dropout since neither of us had been previously. Finding this spot was a little challenging for us. GPS said we had arrived and had us turn into the brick works plaza where sling shot is located. I called the restaurant and was told to take the stairs up go right and then follow the signs for Culinary Dropout. Let’s just say it took us trying to get into 3 doors prior to getting to the correct entrance door! We were pretty pitiful. When we walked in there were about 4 staff standing at the host stand. We were quickly seated towards the back of the restaurant. The first thing I noted is that this place is MASSIVE!! They have a large amount of seating options. Our wait staff came over with glasses of water and walked away. She did not ask if we had any questions or go over the menu. She came back and asked if we wanted to place drink orders. We were going to order brunch food given that it was around 11:30am. As such, I needed coffee. I could not find it on the menu but our wait staff said they do have it. I ordered a cup. It was average at best and cost around $5. Not worth it to me. Price point should be more like 2.99 or 3.99 max. Our waiter attempted to walk away again after dropping the coffee off but we told her we were ready to place our orders. We needed to make sure we had ample time to enjoy our food because my sister had a flight she needed to catch. I ordered the southwest breakfast bowl and my sister opted for the house smoked salmon. Now this is why the one point was taken away! It took what felt like forever for the food to come out. Both dishes are so basic that I honestly don’t know what took so long. When we first arrived there were only about 5 other tables with guest. It took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive after placing our order. As such, i would NOT recommend coming here if your time is limited. When the food finally arrived we were both impressed with what was received. My sister’s only area of concern was the small portion of salmon received along with only having 1 egg. The meal came with 4 slices of toast so the portion of salmon and egg to bread was off. I did try her Toast, a tomatoes and the onion dip— sooo good. The tomatoes were a treat by themselves! My bowl was full of flavor and I thought the portion size was generous. Overall, love the ambience of this spot, food was amazing, with service needing a little work. I am going to give these guys another shot. Looking forward to trying items from the main menu on my next stop in."
"A round of applause for the dining experience at Culinary Dropout! It was truly amazing from the moment I walked in. Quick heads up: the host will validate your parking for 2 hours. The space exudes openness and airiness, complemented by a rustic charm enhanced by artwork, large mirrors, and an overall beautifully executed decor. There are two levels and a private room available for rental, perfect for hosting private events. The restroom was exceptionally clean, featuring three private stalls and excellent lighting for a perfect selfie! Now, for the moment of truth – the food is the real wow factor! We kicked things off with the salmon dip, and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious! Continuing my culinary experience , I indulged in the chicken noodle soup, a perfect choice for the chilly day. As for my main entree, I opted for a classic favorite—the Fried Chicken, served with an assortment of breast, leg, and thigh. The chicken was impeccably seasoned, hot, and delightfully crispy. Might I add, the portion is more than enough. To quench my thirst, I tried the strawberry lemonade and garden mule, both refreshing! To balance out my meal, I tried the monkey bread which was also delicious. Overall, the customer service was outstanding, enhancing the overall dining experience!"
"The food was mostly good! We had a really great waiter, the customer service was excellent. Atmosphere is nice. The fried chicken was the best meal at the table. We also got brussels sprouts and bread for an appetizer (would recommend). The only negative was that the food took a while to come out. Other than that, would recommend to try at least once. Also, they will validate your parking so don’t pay before you go in! We didn’t try any alcohol, alcoholic beverages, but supposedly they’re good!"
"Attended the soft opening and the food was delicious and the staff was very attentive. Enjoyed the drinks and the overall vibe was great! The upstairs deck was real nice and cozy w/ the fire going. Will definitely be back for happy hour!"
