Welcome to the practice of Dr. Amir Shahien, MD, located at 17007 Georgia 67, Statesboro, Georgia. Dr. Shahien is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon with a rich background in sports medicine, having honed his skills at the renowned Andrews Sports Medicine Clinic in Birmingham, AL. His diverse experience spans from working with the University of Alabama football team at the SEC Championship to treating professional athletes across various sports, including baseball and wrestling. Originally from New Orleans, Dr. Shahien is a proud alumnus of the University of Virginia, where he was a Jefferson Scholar. He pursued his medical education at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine and earned a public health degree from Tulane University. His residency in Boston included invaluable experience at top institutions like Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital, under the mentorship of orthopedic trauma expert Dr. Paul Tornetta.
