Cherokee Ridge Elementary School

"My grandson has been a student here for 3 yrs. I've had nothing but positive experiences with the staff so far. There is a couple of people in the office who are a little unfriendly, but I just assume that maybe they're aren't very happy people but I've never had any bad experiences with them. Most importantly the teachers he's had so far seem to be genuinely caring and want to do what it takes for the children to excel which my grandson has. He likes his school too. If we even mention moving, the 1st thing he's concerned with is leaving his school which tells me he's happy and comfortable there."

"My daughter has a learning disability. This school did not go through the steps to see if she had one. They were aware she had trouble learning and knew how frustrated she was with herself. She would cry from frustration. I changed her school after third grade and her new school had her tested for learning disabilities. They have made accommodations so that she can learn. She is now an honor student. This school should have tested her and made accommodations not all children learn the same but deserve the same opportunities to learn."

"My daughter went through this school and the staff were great to her. My son is currently a first grader and went through kindergarten here as well and he loves it. For those who say corporal punishment is abuse sorry but spanking a child isn't abuse. It is a way to discourage bad behavior."

"They like other schools in Georgia still use a paddle to beat the children into submission. This is what they call corporal punishment but it's simply child abuse allowed by the state. Homeschool is the best way if you can do it."

"I have had 5 children go through this school and it is absolutely FABULOUS! The Staff is great and they take care of their students and are very accessible. The will have your child ready for the next level. I would Highly Recommend this school. My oldest started going there in 2006 and the fifth one I have going through there is now in the third grade (2016). Mrs. Vann and Dr.Brown lead this school and are a very valuable asset. Mr. Liggins, Mrs. Haston, Mrs. Summers, Mrs.Generazio, Mrs. Lowery, Mrs. Cooke, Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Wooten, Mrs. Ashcraft, Mrs, Smithson and I am sure I have forgot one or two have all had a huge impact on many kids and they have been several of my kids teachers and I would recommend any and all of them. ( there are other great ones that I may have missed or have not taught my kids, I apologize for not mentioning them). People are always worried about who their teachers will be, Not me, not at Cherokee Ridge.
