“What an incredible stay. A real Downtown Abbey experience. We spent 5 days with our extended family (Nieces and Nephews ages 4-12). Incredibly family friendly. But yes, you need to keep the kids in check with all the historical pieces. They spent most of the time outside running around the grounds and boating on the lake. Not one minute of telly for 5 days, it was that much fun. Forest walks for miles, paradise! As a previous reviewer said, the pictures really don't do it justice. You are transported back in time to a real lived-in estate. If you want a traditional bland hotel experience, this isn't for you. It's just something incredibly unique and special. The place is dripping in family history and luxury. It's like being transported back in time to 18th century but with the comforts of the 21st century. If you are in anyway inclined to experience what it must have felt like to live that Downtown Abbey country estate life, this is definitely a bucket list stay. And on top of everything meet the humble and welcoming family that still runs it 350 years later!”

“First time in Tubbercurry and looking for a place to eat and spotted Cawley’s Hotel, was really impressed with the ambiance of the venue, its warm character and the great hospitality on offer. The restaurant/bar seemed busy, but manageable and the service provided was excellent. The server I had, Cian I think, he really is an amazing hospitality worker always diligent and on the ball. The food was scrumptious and would definitely recommend the Prawns. I had the steak and it was equally delicious, I think it was the best steak I have ever eaten in a long while, and the dessert of the French Apple Pie was superb. Cawley’s Hotel is a gem and I will be back again.”

“Staff in this hotel are amazing, so helpful and friendly. The rooms are large, comfortable, modern and tastefully decorated. There was live music on Friday and Saturday night with a trad band on Sunday evening. Leisure centre is great with large pool and excellent selection of gym equipment.”

“We had our humanist wedding and reception in the Ocean Sands Hotel in April and the wedding team were amazing. From the first day we went to chat and view the hotel, right up to the wedding day itself, the team were so helpful and accommodating for everything we needed. They were always available during the wedding planning and did most of the organising around the day for us! The food was unbelievable- all of the guests commented on how good it was. The location by the sea is wonderful (even though we got a wet and windy day, it was still beautiful!). I absolutely would recommend the Ocean Sands Hotel to any couple planning their wedding. “If you ever have to tire out your kids... this is the place to go. As it rains mostly in the North West, this is a great place to go with the kids. The coffee I not bad and you can get hot food aswell. Staff are friendly and welcoming.”

“The room was large, warm & well appointed. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast was 15 euro per person - but was a buffet so you could go back for more. The staff were extremely helpful. Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to use the spa/ health club due to our schedule.”

“Have just ordered our 3rd bed from here. Fiona is great, will advise on the most suitable bed to fit your budget and needs, great communication, many beds are already in stock, even those with drawers. Only ordered on Tuesday and will have delivery within the week. Quality in the last beds were great, very comfortable, have recommended them to friends also.”

“Cheryl on resection went beyond the call of duty, to help our stay more welcome. The staff were respectful and the food. Even in the bar the prices of food seemed steep but than we have had to deal with covid and the food is tasty.. Breakfast was nice too”

“Had a lovely stay here. Room was big, clean and well maintained. Breakfast in the morning was good too with plenty of choice and great service. I stayed for business but would recommend to couples and families too. Can’t beat the location!”
