"When our children visit this is the preferred park for our grandchildren. They don't mind walking over a mile to get there. It has fenced-in toddler-appropriate climbing toys and swings. Mounded terrain (which toddlers see as mountains) and gravel walking/running path alongside the canal. Restrooms. Off-street parking for cars. Half-court basketball. One tennis court. One pickleball court. Painted hopscotch and four-square areas. In spite of the name there aren't a lot of Jacaranda trees but there are lots of beautiful shade trees. On most days I ride my bike past this park several times and I've never seen it overcrowded, although it is well subscribed. Jacaranda Lakes is well maintained by the City of Plantation. Even though it is a neighborhood park I'm sure that there are people from outside the immediate neighborhood, like my grandchildren, who see it as a desired destination."
