Established in 1906 by Ted Smallwood, the store served as a vital trading post for the early settlers, providing goods in exchange for hides, furs, and farm produce. The store remained open until 1982 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Today, Ted's granddaughter has reopened the store as a museum, preserving its original goods and history for visitors to explore.
