Led by chair Dave Wilcox, local skateboarders and the Skaters' Union collaborated with the Parks and Recreation Department to select the site at the James Messer Sports Complex. Situated near the James Messer Fields and StarMetro Administrative Offices, the skate park offers a unique experience with its longest snake run element in Florida, stretching approximately 225 feet.
