"Unfortunately, of the 2 experiences I had, both were unpleasant. Dismissive and just going through the motions. I’ve had calluses shaved down several times before, and they’ve always been presoaked to make it easier given the hard nature of a callus. Not at this place. The “provider” was clearly struggling with the scalpel and my foot - as evidently seen by his shaking hand. I was hoping he wouldn’t hurt me. He was only able to minimally shave it down, no relief. I had to go to a different provider in a different city which actually performed the procedure correctly. I had X-rays done and saw the provider in the work room on Facebook, which to me just seems unprofessional. It is blatantly obvious the only reason this office is in business is for money. No patient care aspect at all. I was told a different price for orthotics from him when I ordered them, and then I pick them up 5 weeks later when they were ready and it was a $50 difference plus a copay to receive a 10 year old handout from the medical assistant. I asked if he thought a referral to physical therapy would be helpful and he said no, just stretch. Ok? Teaching patients how to appropriately stretch is part of a physical therapist’s role (silly me, I would hope a podiatrist would know and understand the scope of practice of a physical therapist) - so to me that seems like I need a referral? But of course, that would require him to write a prescription for a referral which requires work; and it’s obvious he does not want to do that. I asked a question, received a one sentence answer, and was told “see you in 3 weeks.” No thanks, there must be much better podiatrists in the area. This one is not it. Worst $60 copay I’ve ever paid in my life. Here’s some advice coming from a fellow medical provider, please retire or learn how to listen and care for patients."
