His commitment to community service was evident early on as he worked as a Community Organizer for Hope Worldwide, Inc. in Nairobi, Kenya, supporting NGOs focused on orphaned children. Before pursuing his medical degree at the University of Florida in 2006, Dr. Harrell enriched young minds as a science teacher at Kanapaha Middle School in Gainesville.
