Publix Super Market at The Shoppes at Verdana Village

"I shop at both local publix stores. You have to go see the new Publix out in front of Verdana Village. It is great. I couldn't believe how well it was stocked. The employees were quite friendly. Two to three of them asked how I was doing and if they could help me find anything. I live in Bella Terra so the Publix at Corkscrew and Benhill is a little more convenient but I will definitely go back and shop at the new Publix out at Verdana Village when I do a large shop. "I was ecstatic this Publix was opening since it's only 10 minutes from my house. However, I have been really disappointed by the level of service provided by management there. First, I agree with almost all the other comments about the sandwich ordering. The line is always too long and the employees understaffed. Then, you have employees who can't understand English so they inevitably don't get the order correct. For instance, my vegan friend was almost served real Turkey on a vegan sandwich because the employee didn't understand. When he asked, she said 'yea... yea... ' and kept moving the sandwich along. Finally someone who realized the issue took the entire sandwich and tossed it before making it correctly. It's just a mess and is always a hassle to try and order a sandwich there. The manager is seemingly always standing by the entrance and I'm not entirely sure how he can just watch that debacle without assisting or intervening. My bigger issue, however, is the store management's lack of responsiveness. I have been asking for the better part of 3 months whether this store can order a special kind of beer from Leinenkugel. I started asking the Publix liquor store associates next door if it could be ordered shortly after it opened. My name and number was taken down three separate times by three different associates in the liquor store with two to three week gaps between each visit. Nothing. No updates whatsoever. Then I started going into Publix and speaking to customer service. Again, I asked if the beer could be ordered. They made me fill our a request form with my contact information. I was assured I would be called (I even have the carbon copy of the request still...). Never ever heard back. So I gave it yet another attempt and went in and asked. I met with the grocery manager and he advised it could be ordered. He indicated two cases would be ordered and would be there next Tuesday. I went in the following Wednesday and spoke to the assistant grocery manager. He did not know anything about it, could not get in contact with anyone who could answer, and still no confirmation. A pure masterclass in failed communication and customer service through this entire three month ordeal. And yet, I still don't have an answer from their managers. In total, my request probably went through 7-8 associates and 3 managers over three months at that store. Not a single word from anyone. If it wasn't for convenience of location, I would absolutely go to a different Publix further in town."

"Shiny and new, this is by far one of the nicest Publix locations in the area. Although the store at Ben Hill and Corkscrew is a little closer to us, I'll drive the additional miles to this location because I love the ample (and far less crazy) parking lot, store layout and overall shopping experience. The deli is wonderful and everything is easy to find. I can't say this store is 100% perfect (they seem to be out of stock frequently on some of the items I often need) but they still merit 5 stars for the shopping experience as a whole."
