Welcome to Caloosahatchee Regional Park Mountain Bike Trailhead, a scenic haven for outdoor enthusiasts located at 18251 North River Road, Alva, Florida 33920. Managed by Lee County Parks & Recreation, this park spans 768 acres of diverse ecosystems, including pine flatwoods, scrub oak, cypress swamps, and oak hammocks. The park offers over 20 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, providing a perfect escape into nature. The north side of the park is dedicated to mountain biking and horseback riding, while the south side features hiking trails, a fishing pier, a floating dock, and a primitive campground. Enjoy kayaking and fishing along the banks of the Caloosahatchee River, or plan a special event at one of the covered pavilions.
Boca Ciega Millennium Park
Boca Ciega Millennium Park is a 186-acre park located in Seminole, Florida, accessible to the Pinellas Trail. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Boca Ciega Bay from the observation tower and explore diverse ecosystems including pine flatwoods, coastal oaks, hammock, mangrove swamp, salt marsh, bay head, and wetlands. The park is part of the "Great Florida Birding Trail" and is recognized for its use of native plants in landscaping. The park was dedicated in April 2001 and is home to a variety of wildlife and plant species. In 2007, Pleistocene age fossils were discovered in the park, providing a glimpse into its ancient history. Fossil bones of Columbian mammoth, giant sloth, saber-toothed cat, and more are now housed at the Museum of Natural History in Gainesville.
