Built in 1964 by Coral Ridge Properties, the covered bridge served as the entrance to the new City of Coral Springs and was a key feature in showcasing the future style of the city. Designed in a colonial style by George Hodapp, the 40-foot bridge has a single steel span that crosses N.W. 95th Avenue. Originally painted barn red to convey a sense of the Old South, the bridge has since been restored and now stands as the only covered bridge in the state of Florida in the public right-of-way. The Coral Springs Covered Bridge has been designated as a Florida Heritage Site Marker in recognition of its architecture and historical significance to the state.
