"Edit: MY CAT DIED BECAUSE THEY MISDIAGNOSED HER. They told me she did not have mammary gland cancer WHEN THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT SHE HAD. They cost me precious time that I could have used to save my precious baby. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I do not recommend this place. They overcharge you and give you very little care or information for the price you pay. My cat did not improve upon taking the medications the doc prescribed after talking with me for 2 minutes (they charged me $700 for 2 medications plus a vaccine... These same medications cost no more than $20 each online). They tricked me into enrolling into their "vaccine for life" program without explaining the cost at all. My cat was still declining so I took her back a week later per the doc's orders and they charged me almost $300 merely to clean her wound and change up her meds (again, the new med costs a maximum of $20). The doctor spends as little time with you as possible and acts annoyed when he has to answer any additional questions. I felt like the whole process was rushed and that they didn't care about my pet at all. The doctor was saying he might have to do surgery on my cat but couldn't clearly explain why. I ended up having to take my sweet kitty to the UF Emergency vets after her condition continued to decline.... They charged a lot more but they actually gave her quality care, assigned a whole team to her case, and the vet sat down with me and took a lot of time to answer my questions and inform me about her care. My baby is doing so much better because the staff at UF emergency vets actually know what they're doing and take the time to consult with you about everything. Yes, they are expensive but you actually get what you pay for: Quality care, information, and staff that is very educated and compassionate, and will take the time to answer all your questions and agree on a good plan of care. Don't take your pets to Gainesville Animal Hospital unless you want to pay out the nose for poor to mediocre care and get the brush off when you have any questions."
