Welcome to Public Beach Access on Longboat Key, Florida! Nestled at 6399 Gulfside Road, our beautiful beach access points offer you a serene escape to the pristine shores of the Gulf of Mexico. Longboat Key is known for its tranquil beaches, bordered by private homes and condominiums, but our public access points ensure everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of this coastal paradise.
Explore the 12 public beach access points along Gulf of Mexico Drive, each marked by distinct blue and white signs. While these access points do not offer facilities like bathrooms or lifeguards, restrooms are conveniently located at the Bayfront Park parking area. Please note that alcohol is prohibited on the beach, in keeping with Longboat Key's regulations.
Our beaches are perfect for those seeking a more secluded experience, ideal for a peaceful picnic or a leisurely day of shell collecting. The sand here is darker and more granular than the fine white powder of nearby Siesta Key, but it offers a unique charm and is rich with seashells and sand dollars, easily found with a snorkel and mask just offshore.
Parking varies at each access point, with some offering direct parking and others providing nearby options. As you plan your visit, consider the proximity of local shops and restaurants, as well as the large Publix supermarket at 525 Bay Isles Rd for all your picnic needs.
Please respect Longboat Key ordinances by observing the beach rules, including the prohibition of alcohol and the closure of public beaches from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., unless otherwise noted.

"This used to amazing to see earth the beaches naturally and smell the salt water must in the wind , the sand cooling the sun down the water was crystal clear sometimes blue green or aqua and the sun going down was in admiration but sadly now it's red tide every year and it's smells like dirty baby diapers and Florida isn't helping fix it ..."
