Dunnellon Trailhead
Dunnellon Trailhead is a park located at 1279 West Withlacoochee Trail in Citrus Springs, Florida, United States. The trail captures the look of historic railroad bridges from the late 1800s, when Dunnellon was a booming town due to the discovery of phosphate. The 2.4-mile-long paved multi-use trail runs along a historic railroad bed along the Rainbow River, with trailheads located on both the Marion County and Citrus County sides. Lake Rousseau Dam & Recreational Area is a beautiful park located at 10913-11025 West Riverwood Drive in Crystal River, Florida, United States. The park surrounds Lake Rousseau, which was originally flooded in the early 1900s with a hydro-electric dam. The dam was built to provide electricity for the phosphate mining boom in the Dunnellon area. The Inglis Dam Recreation Area is situated off West Riverwood Drive, about 2 miles east of U.S. 19. This area features the Inglis Main Dam, which is the larger of the two spillway structures for Lake Rousseau. The Main Dam provides access to Inglis Island's south side via an access bridge.
