Mrs. Smokeys Real Pit Bar-B-Q

"This was our first time we tried this place. The wait was about 30 mins a bit long for bbq!! We were excited to try this place and unfortunately we were not pleased!!!! We spent over $60. The bathrooms were clean a plus, cute little atmosphere. The gentleman up front was nice and trying to do it all, he could have used support answering phones and putting orders together a bit more! The brisket was chopped and dry no flavor, we were hoping for slices not chopped. The chicken was very dry, no flavor, it was over cooked, the ribs didn't have flavor unfortunately either but slightly tender. The Mac and cheese is from a bag ( something like wawa) we were hoping for a homemade Mac and cheese as most mom and pop bbq usually do. The collard greens unfortunately again NO flavor!! They were cooked well but NO flavor. No onions, pork, or turkey as some BBQ places use instead of pork. No salt, no pepper taste, garlic. didn't taste chicken broth flavor, VERY basic and didn't get that southern taste at all!!!! The 1 good item we had was the sausage that had flavor!!! The sauces I wasn't a fan of any of them unfortunately! Maybe we came on a bad night!! We were hoping it was going to be good. You win some and ya loose some. Mission bbq we could have gotten 6 meats and 4 sides 2 slices of corn bread and 2 beverages for the same price!!!! Good luck and keep trying!!! Rock on to bbq!!!"

"The best barbecue! When my dad and I walked in. I knew the place was gonna be good due to the environment and crowd. When we got our food, my expectations were exceeded as it is some of the best barbecue in the area!"

"Literally the best ribs I’ve ever had! And was pleasantly surprised that the owner was able to confirm that the ribs are gluten free! My husband and his friend who attends rib fest every year, loved their ribs also! The service was also so good, so friendly and helpful! We will be back for sure :)"

"There are your cookie cutter BBQ restaurants out there, and south Florida is littered with them, from chains, to all sorts of gimmicks, to bbq places who take no pride anymore in their cooking and food .... Let's make one thing clear, Mrs. Smokey's is NOT one of these places. The restaurant itself is beautiful, warm and inviting, simple down home ambiance, very comfortable, as soon as you walk in you feel welcome. The food was excellent, the baby back ribs I had were perfectly smoked and extremely tender, the mild sauce was just right and not at all overwhelming the smokey taste of the meat itself, great balance of flavors, nothing at all over done, just GOOD bbq. The sides I ordered were simple, just tots (crispy) and Mac n cheese, my classic favorites, zero complaints as well. Now on to the staff and service. Fantastic attitude and service all around. I absolutely cannot find a single bad thing or complaint to say about this place. Mrs. Smokey herself and her family still work here at this establishment, SUCH a pleasant person, pleasant smile and genuine attitude towards not just me but every single customer that came in today. What a great experience. She came over to my table to ask for my feedback on the food and we spoke a few times throughout my visit, you can tell she has such a passion for what she does, from back when she started in 1979 all the way until today, she is someone who takes pride and passion in not just the quality of her food but her service, and the way she values her customers, every restaurant should take notes on how she runs her restaurant.
