"Went here for one year before COVID in the Orchestra department. Teachers here are good for the most part, with a few such as Ms. Lunger being an exception. The bullying here was the part that infuriated me. Otherwise, solid school."

"This is a creative and high-quality teaching institution that specializes in kids pursuing a passion for the arts. Teachers and staff are mostly dedicated and caring. Self learners do best since the school itself is not always as well organized as one might hope. but that seems fairly normal within the Duval school system, although it could also represent the learning curve of a new principal who deserves a chance to make her mark."

"I'm currently about to start high school, and I learned a lot from this school. Teachers: The teachers are mostly great with some that are strange. Most of the strange ones you can avoid, but there's some that you really can't. Most of the teachers are very kind and understanding. The teachers are nice to you, and respect you as long as you are respectful, and responsible. Art area: I was a dance major and let me tell you, you better be prepared for the kids that are in it. I was on A-side for my 6th grade and moved to B-side in the middle of 7th grade. I honestly wish I would've stayed over on a side than to be over with b side. The people were very fake, mean, and judgmental. Through out my 3 years at Lavilla I was always bullied in the dance department. The only teacher that seemed to care about it was Mrs.Ottley. Just be prepared if you aren't that popular to be talked about and judged if you're going into dance. Faculty: The faculty is amazing. The principal, dean, principal secretary, both the principal assistants, and ms.crews are amazing. When I was sad they were always there for me and it felt like it was a family there. I was an office aid this year for 8th grade and it was always fun helping out every one like Mr.Martin. Students: The students are either really good, kind, quiet, weird, or bullies. The classes I was in this year were strange. There was always a class you could laugh in. And then a class you could laugh with. And a class that would laugh at you. Overall the students are kind but there will always be the few that are mean and rude for no reason. Academics. The academics are good with allowing people advanced classes. I will say that its hard not getting burnt out there. By the end of the day everyone would be so tired by just being there. I can't even count the times I would fall asleep at 8 woke up at 3 with a book in my hand and get a few hours of ok rest. Sum of everything It's a good school regarding faculty and teachers, with a good balance of academic work and arts area work, while preparing you for high school and future jobs. Just be mindful of the people that go here and the people you meet."

"Great school! The teachers care about their kids and push them to be the best they can be. However today, I didn’t feel well so I went to the nurses office. I just needed some Advil, but ms cruise said, “I’m not taking anyone for the rest of the day” this was around 1:15. In my opinion, if students are in pain or need help, they should be open to help anyone at anytime. But again, this is an amazing school!"

"The talent is overflowing at this school the performances are definitely worth the price of admission. This is a top notch school in the area. Even though it is a public school there are expenses involved so please be prepared for the financial commitment so that your child can get the full experience. The BEST middle school in town!!"
