“We booked Luna Bar for our small wedding and we were absolutely blown away with how generous and accommodating management was. The views of Dunedin are amazing, everybody absolutely loved their food (We all decided we would all go back to Dunedin just to have the duck again!). The staff were friendly, and we had an amazing time. We were also rained out of our original wedding venue, and we were so appreciative when they offered the beautiful room upstairs to do the ceremony. We honestly couldn't have asked for more, and if I had the skills to write a better review I would :)”

“I had a great dine-in experience here. The atmosphere was very good and the servers were very polite and helpful. Unfortunately I ordered a main gnocchi dish and got a spaghetti starter instead but i was hungry enough to not care or say anything. Regardless the pasta was delicious and the restaurant was also able to provide complimentary parmesan to accompany my meal. The portion size of the hot chips for a starter was big and great value. Thanks for the great hospitality!”

“I had a great experience dining in tonight, the staff were very friendly and happy to have us. They took the time to explain their menu and current deals. Food was fairly priced for the quantity and quality, the entire meal was delicious and i couldn't finish it all. I'm excited to come back soon and try something else. Thanks for the great service ☺”

“I have only heard of this place, the pizza's are phenomenal. It's worth a try during the day as it's nice and quiet, the music is just loud enough to hear the person/ people you are with. It's a great big thumbs up from us”

“Came here to dine on my birthday and boy, was I in for a treat! Lovely service overall, very friendly and was definitely spoilt. Ordered the ribs as per usual, cooked very well, had generous amount of sauce on top and was delicious! (Note that however I have found that when cooked in bulk (Lonestar was the venue for our end of year class dinner), I've experienced very dry ribs-inconsistency in-preparation?) great salad, not soggy at all, and average potato wedges, not super crisp. Also got offered salt and pepper seasoning in the fanciest way through a very long shaker by the flamboyant waiter and was definitely pleased! For dessert, creme brûlée and longhorn cheesecake were picked. Creme brûlée was delicious, the topping excellently crisp and sweet with a loose silky pudding base underneath. The cheesecake was well balanced with the whipped cream and it was very creamy and decadent. Not too sweet but chocolately enough for that sweet tooth fix! On the house items were the kiwi pavola with a cute candle on top, and the waiter also offered us tea! Super fancy set up, and we had little cups of milk on the side too! Was such a lovely surprise. Definitely recommend going on your birthday for a special meal, had a lovely time! This ended up becoming my yearly birthday routine-ribs at lone star!”

“Dined as a family, some of whom had dietry requirements. The vegetarians were well catered for, and the kitchen was more than happy to alter dishes to accommodate requests. Good variety of dishes available, reasonable serving size and prices Happy to return”

“Staff are friendly, welcoming and always happy to assist. Access by stairs or lift, wheelchair accessible. Complimentary hot drinks (vending machine) or barista coffee at the bar. Food menu is limited but adequate. Meals very nice, mid price range. Plenty of gaming macines offer a variety of games, betting cost options and jackpots. Gaming tables include roulette and blackjack. Membership discounts and prize draws available.”

“They are FANTASTIC. The service is 11/10 and the food is wonderful with great lively atmosphere. Chef took unnecessary and infinitely kind care to make our starters without butter as he noticed we had a vegan at our table. So kind and so warm. 100% recommend! Plus they have amazing margaritas :)) Also so so affordable it’s ridiculous. Vast vegan menu :)”

Can't wait to be back to try more You are looking at the most expensive glass of water. An absolute rip off to charge so much for water when you are dishing out sauces and condiments for free. Do not blame you guys, this is the story in New Zealand now, sugary fizzy drinks are cheap as and water costs more. Food was good as usual. Fresh, flavourful and well presented. Loved the Sun on my face sitting on the window seat. Neat clean.place.”
