Fort Miles Historic Area
β OpenThe Fort Miles Historic Area, located at 15099 Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, Delaware, is a museum and tourist attraction that showcases the history of Fort Miles, a key piece of our nation's coastal defense from World War II through the early 1970s. The museum features Battery 519, barracks buildings, a fire control tower, an orientation building, and the Fort Miles Artillery Park. Visitors can take guided tours, enjoy interpretive programs, explore the museum exhibits and artifacts, and learn about Delaware's role in WWII. The museum is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from March 3 to June 10, and Tuesday through Saturday from June 13 to September 9. Public access is available during opening hours. The grounds of the museum are open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset.
