Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kenmare
● Open“What can i say ..... This place to me is magic. From my Grandad this has THE most special memories for my family. The Church my Grandad grew up in to the day we took him home there. A place I never thought I could enter again, until, my now wonderful husband, proposed outside on 22nd December 2017 to me ... And being able to Marry inside this undeniably beautiful church on the 5th January 2019 - A dream I never thought would come true. If you like architecture, or you enjoy natural beauty - then you need to visit this church. You will never set foot inside one quite like it again. Thanks to Father Crean for allowing me to marry inside this precious building because it meant the world to me and more. Clair Lewis - Herts, UK :)”

Derreen Garden(Gairdín Derreen)
● Closed“Wonderful place for a day trip if you are in the area. The park opens at 10.30 all year round, however the cafe was closed when we were there in November. There is a large car park directly beside the cafe and main house, note that off season there is a drop box for cash, no card! We had no cash but had a chat to the head gardener who gave us his blessings to view the gardens! We will be back to pay, a Lannister always pays his debts!! The park is grea, a series of walks that take you right down to the shoreline. The unique microclimate in this part of the world allows some fairly unique plants and trees to grow...very Jurassic Park in places. For the kids there is a series of fairy houses to keep them engaged and entertained. We spent maybe 2 hours exploring before we took the head gardens recommendation for lunch, Helen's Bar up the road for toasted sambos. Pity the cafe onsite was closed, we will be back!”

There is a restaurant above the aqua pk shop so u can sit and have a drink and food waiting for kids if suits u. Outdoor dining only at moment. Food tasty but service was slow day we were there as it was very busy. Young waiting staff very friendly but not enough working on that day which was tough on them. Aqua Pk is well worth a day out.”
