Solnit Psychiatric Center - North Campus, located at 36 Gardner Street in East Windsor, Connecticut, is a specialized facility operated by the Connecticut State Department of Children and Families. This center serves as a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility for adolescent males aged 13 to 17 with complex psychiatric needs. The goal of the program is to provide a continuum of care from hospitalization to reintegration into the community, or as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization. At the Solnit Children's Center, residents have access to an educational program, work opportunities, and a variety of rehabilitation services including therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy, and music therapy. The facility utilizes a strength-based, family-centered approach with a focus on building positive relationships between youth and adults. Treatment strategies are trauma-informed and gender-responsive to meet the specific needs of each individual.
