Hurd State Park, located at 74 Hurd Park Road in East Hampton, Connecticut, is a beautiful park offering a variety of outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy. Covering nearly 1,000 acres, the park is a popular destination for small boat owners, who often recognize it by the landmark "split rock" that towers above the trees. This unique rock formation contains veins of feldspar, which was once mined extensively in Connecticut. Fortunately, a court decision in favor of the state prevented the possible desolation of some of the park's land.
