About the Business

The Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance is a distinguished, high-achieving, pre-professional performing arts school located at 440 Main Street in Ridgefield, Connecticut. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit dance school, we are nationally recognized for nurturing young dance artists in strong movement technique and encouraging them to become knowledgeable, passionate, thinking artists. Our students learn technique, artistry, and creativity while developing self-discipline, teamwork, and confidence. We offer performance opportunities in The Nutcracker, Ridgefield Civic Ballet, college dance programs, and professional dance careers. Our academic calendar and class schedule can be viewed on our website. We are also a chapter sponsor for the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. Our young dancer program levels are based on developmental milestones and age, with a cutoff date of September 1, 2023 for the upcoming season. Pointe work is reserved for advanced dancers who have the strength and skill to execute its demands, with faculty approval required. We take a thoughtful approach to placing students en pointe, considering factors such as readiness and technique.
