“Simply the best ramen I have ever had. Both the Shoyu and Tonkatsu ramens are amazing. I would come here every week for a bowl if I could. Only small complaint was that the vegetarian miso ramen didn’t match the quality of the meat ramens.”

“Valentines dinner was fantastic!! Staff was very friendly and happy to answer any questions. Food was fantastic! worth it for the experience and a nice way to see some of the city. My only issue was how small/cramped the seats and table were, my 6” 1’ partner sitting across from me had his knees against the edge of my seat. but understandable with being on an old tram.”

“Ordered the Royal Pho. Was pleasantly surprised with the dip. It truly brought out the flavor of the beef broth. It looks spicy but it’s not. You can request for chopped chilis at the side if you wish. The beef balls came in the broth were juicy and you can dip the raw beef into the boiling hot broth to cook it before eating… loved the experience.”

“We love dining at Samairaz. Both the food and the service are outstanding. The owners work in the restaurant - it makes such a difference. They are highly skilled at what they do and remember our favourite food and drink and details about our family. Very impressive. This is matched by delicious food - so tasty. We went there with friends who have visited India many many times who said it tasted very authentic. We particularly enjoyed the non-veg platter. Actually we've really enjoyed everything that we've tried. There's a steady stream of customers coming in for take-outs and the restaurant always seems busy, regardless of whether it's a weeknight or a Friday or a Saturday. This is testament to their quality of food and service as it's unusual for a suburban restaurant to be this busy. The service is outstanding - even on a busy Friday night, it's a marvel of friendly efficient service. These are highly skilled restaurant staff who really care about the dining experience of their customers.”

“Had the chef's selection, all the dishes were exquisite with a lot of depth in flavour. The star dishes were the flounder and the flatbread, the tamarillo and stracciacella was unquie and interesting. Look forward to trying their summer menu.”

“First time trying here while revisiting Chch. The satay noodles takes me back to my uni days, the broth was very nice balance of sweet and savoury. The rice rolls are also very freshly made and yummy. Overall can't go wrong with this place and the lady who served us whom I assume is the owner as well, was very friendly and nice.”

“If you have the budget, this is an absolute recommend for me when you’re going to the botanical gardens. It’s near the garden and the tram actually stops right in front of it. I went for breakfast and their breakfast menu is just *chef’s kiss* I would recommend booking if you’re going for lunch or dinner though.”

“We devoured the chicken skewer with naan and lamb shank meal. The meal came with salad, garlic and mint dip. Ordered chicken curry as well (that tasted nothing like Indian curry), that was so good. The doogh though, is worth the extra mention. Doogh is the version of laban or ayran to some countries / cultures. A must try! We went back a week later to satisfy another bout of craving.”

“A hidden gem. If we hadn’t had a voucher to use, we would be none the wiser to this amazing little neighbourhood bistro. We chatted to the owner and other guests and ate delicious grilled meat and veges and salad . Also had the best babaganoush ever. It has an small wine list but good quality wines. It was such a great night . We will return and bring friends.”
