“During business trip in Newport, our members wanted to have Korean food. And finally we’ve found this restaurant. It was GREAT time to have wonderful Korean dishes in UK. I had Korean-style pork vally, and several soup. Pork vally is worth to get 5 starts. For Korean-soup, maybe real Koreans think it is too sweet. But it is good try for UK people who is not familiar with spicy food. Thanks again for good dinner, If I visit Cadiff and Newport area again, will visit here again for sure. I already miss Romeo and Juliet.”

“Gem 42 in Newport is AMAZING! The food is out of this world. You must go if you are in the area. If you are not in the area then you must make the effort to get here. The restaurant is beautifully and tastefully decorated. The food is cleverly and creatively presented on a range of different plates, bowls and porcelain dishes - very entertaining. The staff are excellent and the chef explained every morsel in detail. The whole evening was an incredible and delicious theatrical event. Highly recommend!”

“The Sunday 3 course menu here is beautiful. The beef was some of the best I have had on a roast dinner. And the portions are large as well as perfectly cooked. Service was a little slow at one point and we were forgotten for a while after our starters though a round of drinks was given to rectify this. Everyone was polite and a nice atmosphere. Will be visiting again.”

It would have been a little better if they had kept the second door shut rather than propped open as when people walked in there was a rush of cold air through the restaurant. Overall though, excellent and we will return.”
