"UPDATE: After putting in my review I got a call from the higher ups. Arrangements were made and my apartment got some appreciated updates. Including: new carpet, fresh paint, new flooring in bathrooms and kitchen, new ceiling fan in dining room, and new blinds in the kitchen. Thank you Birdcage Village! Never update tenants apartments. Your parking space is far from you apartment and there is no additional parking for 2nd vehicle. Old cars taking up spaces that need to be removed off property. Maintaining is a hit and miss with properly repairing work orders and have had attitude issueswith them. Poor communication with everything. Never answer phones. One of my cabinets fell off the wall out of nowhere holding only spices! Hit my 4 year old daughter and not even an apology from the office. There so called fix was to just put it back up there with extra nails. The cabinets/doors in the home are all ORIGINAL from maybe the 70s! They will not replace! Leaking roof 2 years in a row from the same spot. Replaced nothing. Been here for 8 years and would appreciate some renovations to the old apartment but when I asked I was told to pay $400 more and move to another unit. Good way to thank you loyal tenants. Laundry is a no. The machines are always broken and the apartments take no responsibility for it. Dealing with the vendor makes us just say forget it and travel to wash at laundromats. There is so much more but I think you get the picture."

"I rented a one-bedroom apartment in the Birdcage Village apartment for my daughter. The apartment complex was very nice, quiet, safe and friendly. This place is very well located and many stores/restaurants are available around the complex. The office staff and maintenance guys are very friendly and prompt. In particular, I want to thank the community manager Carmen Coltisor, who is extremely helpful and compassionate. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place with reasonable rent and a nice/safe environment. Thanks."

"Sunny is very helpful, respectful and super pleasant. The other woman Sylvia is very RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. She does not need to work in the office. She is not helpful at all and have a bad attitude! She needs to be fired immediately!!!!"

"The management is incapable of communicating efficiently with the simplest of inquiries. They are unorganized in their final move-out process and this shows with inconsistencies given by different staff members. Moving can be quite challenging, in general and nobody needs added stress during that time. I've never experienced such lack of interest with any property management before. I had just moved to Sacramento from Illinois & I was in a time crunch to find a place. From the start, communication from Silvia was not good. I was the one initiating phone calls & emails to get updates on my paperwork, move-in dates etc. She admitted she "forgot" to send me the welcome letter. Included in my welcome folder was supposed to be a card that you put in your mailbox, to let the postal person know you're living here. Never got one. Couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting mail for 3 weeks until the mail person told me about the card. The complex's water pipe burst on my outside wall. My carpet got soaked & water stained my dresser. The complex refused to pay for any damage. Two or three washers will always be broken at any given time. The windows are so thin & poorly sealed that you can here someone talking on their phone while walking on the sidewalk which is 6 feet away. They gave me a final inspection date & time between 9-5. An 8 hour window! I showed up on that day at 9am & they had already did the final inspection without me, even though I signed the paper stating I wished to be present for the inspection. I made a couple calls previous to my inspection day & never got a call back & never was notified of the inspection. Again, no communication. According to the office, you'll get your deposit back within 21 days from corporate. You'll hear that word a lot "corporate". Anything that involves money, the office uses "corporate" as the go to excuse. But hey, if you're desperate.."

"An absolute joke. Do not apply to Birdcage Village. Their staff is absolutely incompetent when it comes to the application process. They did not even believe that my partner was employed, would not accept his paystubs as proof of employment, and gave us the wrong move in date AFTER we signed the agreement. Failed to send me copies of contracts, misspoke every time we came back to fix another issue (and they made several mistakes). We made 3 separate trips to fix their own mistakes on our application. The whole process was terrible to work with and made it extremely difficult to apply. We were qualified for this apartment but it’s not worth it. After our 3rd attempt to get our application finished they informed us of ANOTHER mistake in their part that required us to pay for an entirely different and new application online. Look ANYWHERE else. The staff here is horrible."
