Reviews
"We came here because it allows the foraging of mushrooms. We were hoping to find some Blewits. However an hour into our search, we found some hedgehog mushrooms. After a while we decided to just go to the cliffs to enjoy our stay. The view is the quintessential beautiful California seaside, sculptural rocks and wild, majestic waves. A nice way to spend a day after the rains."
"Always a stunning time to visit. Mushrooms in the forest aplenty, and lots of fun little critters in the tide pools. Try to go during low tide!! I saw some people taking mussels, so keep in mind that NO marine take is allowed, except for abalone (although banned until at least 2026) and finfish in certain areas. Basically just don’t disturb the wildlife please!"
"Absolutely beautiful campground surrounded by lush and dense green undergrowth and tall pines. The cool ocean air coming up over the cliffs across the highway from the entrance help keep the temps perfect. Campsites are roomy and restrooms within an easy walk from most sites. No pull through sites, but back ins are plentiful. Each site has fire pits and picnic benches. Recommend reservations during the summers and on weekends."
"An incredible view along the Northern California coast. We were lucky to visit Salt Point when the sun was slightly setting, there were no clouds in the sky, and it was a comfortable 68 degrees. It was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen. If you want to have a similar experience try visiting between September and October, that is when the conditions are best on the Northern California coast."
